From inception KIWASCO has positioned itself as a dynamic company focused on sustainable, quality water and sewerage provision to a fast growing city. Since joining the company in 2006, David has led the transformation of the Company from a loss making entity to one of the leading water companies in Kenya and the region. His background in Engineering and business has enabled him to effectively lead diverse teams in crafting growth strategies, managing business risks, customer relationships and stakeholder interests.
He has pioneered a unique service delivery platform for supply of water to the poor, which is being replicated in several countries in Africa and beyond. Prior to joining KIWASCO, David worked in various technical positions in the water sector where he was involved with engineering designs and construction of various water facilities.
His voluntary work includes serving in the Board of Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) to articulate the interests of employers, Stadia Management Board a parastatal responsible for the development and management of stadia in Kenya, National Wages Council a national body mandated by the Ministry of Labour to advice on wages and conditions of employment; and Boards of various schools and colleges.
He holds a Civil Engineering degree from Nairobi University, Masters in Construction Engineering and Management, Loughborough University UK and a MBA from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. His passion is finding solutions for accelerated access to safe water for all.
