As the Chief of the Child Protection Program, Nankali is responsible for leading a team which assists the Government of Malawi to establish and strengthen an operational national child protection system that protects children from violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect in addition to mitigating the impact of HIV and AIDS. Prior to this position, she was Regional Project Specialist who managed the Children and AIDS Initiative (CARI) which was a USD50 million dollar Orphans and Vulnerable Children program across 9 countries ( Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Mozambique and Malawi).
At the end of the 5 year program, CARI focused on provision of technical support towards establishing legal and policy frameworks, service provision, capacity development and research was found to have met all its objectives through an external evaluation. In addition, Malawi and the Regional position, Nankali have worked in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Somalia always focused on the realization of the rights of vulnerable children.
She holds a Bachelors in Law and a Masters in International Law.
