From 1996, Okello a licensed dentist in Uganda, Kenya and USA, has operated his own dental practice which provides patients with restorative, reconstructive, implant and cosmetic dental care at internationally standards. Since its inception, the practice has developed a firm reputation as a leading provider of dental services in Uganda and draws patients throughout the region. Okello has attained Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry and International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the latter as part of the first cohort of 10 East Africans inducted in 2010.
He is currently enrolled on the Dawson Academy education continuum, a leading dental postgraduate training centre which imparts the skills to treat highly challenging dental reconstruction cases to exacting long-term standards of function and cosmetics. Prior to establishing his own practice, he received Human Biology and Dentistry degrees from Brown University, Rhode Island and Northwestern University, Illinois, USA, respectively. He completed a dental general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Palo Alto, California and practiced privately in the US before returning to Uganda to realize his long-held dream of operating his own dental practice in East Africa. Okello also has a Certificate in Healthcare Management from Strathmore Business School, Nairobi.
He has volunteered on the boards of various sporting, professional and social causes. Okello chairs Zawadi Africa Education Fund (Uganda), international NGO providing scholarships to academically high-achieving young African women to leading universities globally. He is determined to be an active participant in helping Africa’s self-determination of her very bright future.
